How do I replace a Catalogue item description?
There may be a need to replace the description for an item in the Catalogue, with a description received from a vendor. The process to do this is in two steps.
Step 1
- Find the existing Catalogue Item, using the search facility in the Catalogue Table home page,
- Open the the item in Edit mode,
- Change the Active Item Checkbox to "Unchecked"
- Save the Catalogue Item. This will allow the original item to be displayed in existing links to the record but not be used for future MR's or PO's.
Step 2
Go to the Add Catalogue Screen,
- Enter the Details of the new catalogue Item, including the description from the Vendor. (Note when adding a specific Vendor's part, to add the part number at the end of the description)
- Save the record. In future, when searching for a part the new part will be displayed and can be used in future MR's.
